Ghansham Bansal, Dean I feel privileged to be part of Delhi Metro Rail Academy, a premier academy in India providing training solutions in all aspects of Metro Operations including Project planning.

Expansion of metro systems across the country is inevitable and so is the training requirement of intensive training for efficient metro system. DMRC is the first modern metro system in India which is expanding at a phenomenal pace. From the opening of its first corridor between Shahdara and Tis Hazari on 25th December, 2002, Delhi Metro has become the life-line of Delhi with operational network is 393 Km and 288 stations.

Initially it was started as DMRC Training Institute in the year 2002, and over the years it has grown in scale and stature. It was rechristened as Delhi Metro Rail Academy in the year 2019 after a total revamp of the infrastructural facilities. The academy is now equipped with the State of the Art training infrastructure with dedicated expert faculty. It caters to the training needs of not Delhi Metro only but other domestic and international clients as well.

Infrastructural facilities include 25 air-conditioned classrooms with a capacity of more than 900 trainees, equipped with state of the art teaching aids like Interactive Panel Display/Ultra Short Throw Projector/Ceiling Mounted Projector, LAN & CPU, Wi-Fi, digital multimedia podiums, audio lecterns etc. It also have 33 Simulators, 12 Demonstration Rooms and 5 Computer Based Training Rooms.

DMRA has collaboration with institutes of excellence from academic field like IIM Lucknow, IIT-BHU, FMS New Delhi. An MOU as been signed With IIT-BHU to develop a Center of Excellence for Tunneling & Underground Space Engineering (CETUSE). DMRC would also get associated with IIIT-D in making use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in ‘Predictive Maintenance’ of its assets related to operation.

DMRA is ISO: 9001: 2015 certified and has recently been accredited under the prestigious Capacity Building Commission's (CBC) National Standards, as assessed by the National Accreditation Board of Education & Training (NABET) on 18.07.2023.

DMRA is always in the process of capacity building in such a way that it becomes demand driven instead of supply driven and a customers delight.
