Delhi Metro Rail Academy (DMRA) hosted the visit of officials from IIT Delhi (Atal Incubation Centre) on 23rd October, 2024 and presented an insightful overview of the academy's state-of-the-art training set up. During the visit, the officials visited training facilities such as advance driving simulators, demonstration rooms, digital library etc. The Officials commended DMRA for its significant contributions to public transportation and expressed strong support for its continued excellence and innovation in training.

Delhi Metro Rail Academy organized a half-day workshop on ChatGPT inaugurated by the Managing Director in Conference Hall, Metro Bhawan on 9th October, 2024. The workshop was designed for Executive Directors and above level officers. The workshop focused on the integration of AI-driven tools, particularly ChatGPT, to enhance leadership decision-making, streamline communication, and drive innovation. In his opening remarks, the MD highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence and encouraged senior officers to embrace AI as a powerful tool to gain deeper insights, improve operational efficiency, and foster creativity within their teams. The workshop included interactive sessions showcasing real-world applications of ChatGPT in present contexts, equipping participants with the knowledge to leverage AI for strategic growth and organizational success. Delhi Metro Rail Academy (DMRA) conducted a 3 days training program from 25th to 27th September, 2024 focused on the propulsion systems of metro trains for executives of TE Connectivity, a Bengaluru based manufacturing company. The program provided in-depth knowledge of modern propulsion technologies, including traction motors, inverters, and power control systems, crucial for efficient metro operations. Participants learned about the latest advancements in propulsion, with a focus on energy efficiency, reliability, and performance optimization. The training aimed to equip executives with the technical expertise to enhance their knowledge and awareness. 15 executives participated in this program. The program received overwhelming response from them.

Prof. Ravi Ravitharan, Director, Monash Institute of Railway Technology, Australia visited DMRA on 18th Sep, 2024. He was welcomed by Dean/ DMRA and given a brief presentation on DMRA. This was followed by a visit to key areas of the academy, including the Driving and Maintenance Simulators, various demonstration rooms and other specialized training facilities. Professor Ravi Ravitharan, was highly impressed by the experienced & professional faculties placed at DMRA with diverse practical knowledge of their domain. He also commended the state-of-the-art infrastructure available at the academy.

To foster creativity and enhance collaborative initiatives, a brainstorming session was organized at DMRA auditorium on 7th Sept, 2024. The session was chaired by Dean/DMRA and attended by all faculty members of DMRA.
The faculty members actively participated in the session and came up with a lot of innovative ideas to take DMRA to even greater heights. Dean/DMRA highlighted the importance of out-of-the-box thinking and appreciated the creative ideas presented by the participants.

Flag Hoisting Ceremony organized at Delhi Metro Rail Academy (DMRA)
As the entire nation is celebrating 78th independence day, DMRC has also celebrated
the event on a large scale. Flag hoisting program was organized in DMRA on 15th Aug
2024. The event was marked by a large gathering of DMRC officers/ staff and their families,
who came together to honor and commemorate the nation’s independence. The
occasion was a fitting tribute to the spirit of freedom and unity that continues to inspire
the nation.

Quiz Competition organized at Delhi Metro Rail Academy (DMRA)
In the spirit of the 78th Independence Day celebrations, the Delhi Metro Rail Academy (DMRA) organized an engaging quiz competition on 14th Aug, 2024, featuring participants
from both the Operations and Maintenance wings. Fourteen trainees competed in the
event, showcasing their knowledge and enthusiasm. The competition concluded with the
announcement of the winners, where the top performer, two runners-up, and five
audience members were awarded cash/ special prizes by Dean/ DMRA.

Event organised at Metro Bhawan to mark dual recognition of DMRA from NCVET
DMRA received dual recognition from National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), both as an Awarding Body and an Assessment Agency, on 10th June, 2024.
To commemorate this significant achievement, a formal meeting was organized at Metro
Bhawan, bringing together senior officers from both NCVET and DMRA. During the event,
Dr. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, former Chairperson of NCVET, and Col. Gunjan Choudhary,
Director/NCVET, were felicitated by Dr. Vikas Kumar, MD / DMRC. The discussions during
the meeting focused on the way forward and explored future prospects in the field of
training.

International delegation from Mongolia visits DMRA
DMRA hosted an international delegation from Mongolia on 31st July, 2024. The delegation, comprising faculty members of National Academy of Mongolia and officials from IIPA, Delhi. They were welcomed by Dean/ DMRA, followed by a brief presentation on DMRA and visit to various facilities at the academy such as Digital library, various Demonstration rooms, advanced Driving and Maintenance Simulators, providing them with an understanding of the academy's training capabilities.

Visit of Trainee Officers of the Delhi Judicial Service to Delhi Metro Rail Academy
On 25th July 2024, the Delhi Metro Rail Academy (DMRA) hosted the Trainee Officers of the Delhi Judicial Service for an insightful and engaging visit. This visit was organized to provide the trainee officers with an understanding of the Operations, legal frameworks, and training methodologies employed by DMRC.
The visit commenced with an interaction with the General Manager/Legal, DMRC. The trainee officers were given a comprehensive overview of the legal frameworks, land acquisition and policies governing the operations of the Delhi Metro. Following the interaction, Principal/DMRA delivered the presentation about DMRA covering the history of DMRC as well as the role of DMRA in training and Capacity Building for Metro Railways.
Dean/DMRA elaborated on the academic and practical aspects of the training programs offered at the academy. The visit concluded with a guided tour of DMRA's state-of-the-art training facilities.

The 5-days program covered various aspects of Contract Management including Tendering, Critical Analysis of GCC clauses, Dispute Resolutions, Procurement through GeM and Role of Finance and Vigilance in contract management. 32 participants from diverse departments attended the workshop.

DMRA organized a training program on “Introduction to AI Tools in MS Office Productivity” of 2-days duration from 19-20 July, 2024. The training included an overview of AI and ChatGPT, basic AI tools in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. etc. The objective of the training was to equip participants with essential AI tools designed to enhance productivity in the workplace. The training sessions were engaging, providing participants with practical insights and skills that can be applied in their professional roles.

DMRA successfully conducted the 6th Management Development Program for Dy. HOD level officers from 8th July to 23rd July, 2024.
The program has been designed to enrich the participants with advanced tools and skills so that they can further contribute to the organization's growth and success.
The program included interactive organizational development sessions at DMRA, Leadership & Management training at FMS, Delhi and insightful Industrial Visit to National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Anand, Gujarat. 20 Dy. HODs participated in this enriching training experience.

DMRA organises Table Tennis Tournament
DMRA hosted a Table Tennis tournament from 3rd to 15th July, 2024 featuring 26 players from Trainees and Faculty members. The event witnessed a healthy competition across 31 matches, showcasing skill and sportsmanship spirit of a very high order.
The final match, held at DMRA on 15th July, 2024 was an exhilarating contest, leaving everyone on the edge of their seats and marking a memorable conclusion to this spirited tournament. Sh. Sundaram Triyar, Lecturer/Ops emerged victorious in the closely contested match. Dr. Vikas Kumar, MD/DMRC, graced the occasion, adding to the excitement and enthusiasm among participants and spectators.
In his address, Dr. Vikas Kumar lauded the finalists and all the participants for showcasing unparalleled team spirit and sportsmanship. He also congratulated DMRA for organizing a wonderful tournament, emphasizing the importance of sports in daily life and the value of extracurricular activities for a holistic development.

DMRA celebrates 10th International Yoga Day
On 21st June, 2024, Delhi Metro Rail Academy celebrated 10th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and participation of approx. 300 DMRC staff including trainees & faculty.
Dr. Vikas Kumar, MD/DMRC graced the occasion by his presence as chief guest and shared insights on how yoga supports a balanced lifestyle by citing examples from Indian scriptures. He also appealed all employees to integrate with DMRC’s vision statement “Commuting experience in Delhi Metro to be customer’s delight”.
The celebration began with welcome address by Dean/DMRA followed by a comprehensive yoga session conducted by Yogacharya. The session concluded with vote of thanks by Sr. Professor /Civil(DMRA).
International Yoga Day at the academy was not just a celebration, but a reinforcement of DMRC’s commitment to promoting holistic health and wellness. DMRA is committed to play a constructive role in providing training integrated with physical and mental well-being of its trainees and faculty. This year’s International Yoga Day celebration is 10th such celebration in a row. DMRA looks forward to make this celebration a tradition, continually inspiring DMRC employees to lead healthier and more balanced lives.

DMRA receives dual recognition from National Council for Vocational Education & Training (NCVET)
The Delhi Metro Rail Academy (DMRA), India’s first state-of-the-art training facility for Metro Rail professionals, has been granted dual recognition by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) as both an Awarding Body and an Assessment Agency on 10th June, 2024.
The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) was established as a regulatory body by the Government of India. The NCVET serves as an overarching national regulator with the aim of setting standards, developing comprehensive regulations, and improving the vocational education, training, and skilling ecosystem. The primary objective of NCVET is to ensure strong industry interfacing and implement effective regulations that enhance the quality and outcomes of vocational education and training.
It is responsible for the development, qualitative improvement, and regulation of vocational education and training systems. Additionally, NCVET grants recognition to and monitors the functioning of awarding bodies, assessment agencies, and skill information providers. It also performs other incidental functions as specified in its resolution.
The NCVET recognition signifies that DMRA meets the highest standards for delivering approved training programmes as per the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) and conducting rigorous assessments as per the National Credit Framework (NCrF). As an Awarding Body, DMRA is now recognized for developing, delivering, and certifying vocational training programmes, ensuring that trainees receive qualifications that are nationally recognized and valued across the industry. Additionally, as an Assessment Agency, DMRA is entrusted with the responsibility of evaluating and certifying the competencies of professionals.
The Academy is ISO 9001:2015 certified for design, development and delivery of training programmes. DMRA has also been accredited under the prestigious Capacity Building Commission's (CBC) National Standards and these certifications & accreditations validate DMRA's exceptional training methodologies, cutting-edge resources, world-class infrastructure, and unwavering dedication to fostering an environment of domain expertise.

DMRA conducted a 2-days familiarization training on Metro Rail Systems for a batch of Dy. Commissioner of Railway Safety from 18th -19th April, 2024. Seven Dy. CRS from various zones attended the training. The course provided the participants insights into the functioning of various systems in metro railway. The participants expressed their appreciation for the well-conducted training program and expressed their desire to attend similar short-term specialized courses in future also.

DMRA organized a cricket match between faculties and trainees on 21st March, 2024 at Shastri Park. The event, aimed at fostering teamwork and camaraderie, brought faculty and trainees of DMRA together in an exciting display of skill and sportsmanship. The match was a closely contested affair, with both teams demonstrating exceptional prowess amidst the cheers of enthusiastic spectators. Ultimately, the trainee team clinched victory in a nail-biting finish.

DMRA organized a one-day workshop on "Developing Inner Powers" by Brahma Kumaris for DMRC executives on 26th Feb, 2024. The event featured distinguished speakers from Brahma Kumaris who shared valuable insights on cultivating a Stress-Free Lifestyle, understanding the Chemistry of Relations, and practicing Meditation in Action. The engaging sessions provided practical tools for executives to enhance their inner strength and well-being.
The workshop concluded with the address of Dean/ DMRA, who underscored the significance of managing one’s emotions and meditation in fostering a balanced and harmonious life.
The program was attended by 31 executives and received unanimous appreciation from the participants, highlighting its relevance and effectiveness. The program is a part of holistic developmental approach adopted by DMRC.

DMRC and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, Vadodara sign MoU for academic collaboration.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), Vadodara signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Metro Bhawan on 15th Feb, 2024, in the presence of Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC and Professor (Dr.) Manoj Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya and other senior officials. This historic MoU marks a significant leap towards fostering collaboration, enriching academic endeavours, and establishing a lasting partnership between these two premier institutions.
Both the DMRC and GSV will now work together to organise studies and research in the area of transportation and logistics, more particularly related to Metro Rail Technology, thereby, promoting research, education, and training; deepening the understanding of scientific, technological, and management issues; establishing a seamless platform for knowledge exchange; fostering innovative solutions across diverse disciplines by combining strengths, and enhancing capacity building through participative learning. The collaborative efforts are anticipated to create ripples of positive change in the academic and transportation landscape.

DMRA conducts training on “Preventive Maintenance Checks on Rolling Stock” for executives of BHEL and Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd.
A customised Training Program on “Preventive Maintenance Checks on Rolling Stock” was conducted for executives of BHEL and Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. from 29th to 30th Jan, 2024 at DMRA. The two-days training program included interactive classroom sessions and site visits.
A total of 14 executives from BHEL and 3 executives from Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. participated in the program which received encouraging feedback from the participants.

DMRA Organizes Quiz Competition On the Eve of Republic Day
To mark the occasion of 75th Republic Day, Delhi Metro Rail Academy, in keeping with its tradition, organized an exciting quiz competition on 25th Jan, 2024. The packed audience was treated to an exhilarating display of patriotic fervour as trainees engaged in a spirited and healthy competition. The winners & runner-ups were suitably awarded certificates by Sr. Professor(Civil)/DMRA.

A training program on “Project Planning, Execution & Control” was organized for HOD level officers of Steel Authority of India at DMRA from 17-19 Jan, 2024. The program featured interactive classroom sessions and insightful visits to construction sites. The program received highly encouraging and a positive response from the participants.

BHEL executives visit DMRA
On 10th Jan, 2024, Sh. G.K. Gupta, Advisor / Mechanical / BHEL, along with his team visited DMRA. They were given a brief presentation on the facilities offered by the academy. The focus of their visit was to see the Rolling Stock facilities at DMRA. During the visit, the delegates were taken to RS-2 Driving Simulator, various Trouble shooting and Maintenance Simulators of Rolling Stock (RS-10) like Bogie, Brake, Traction Motor, Pantograph, VCC, Gangway Coupler, HVAC, etc. and GMSM room. The executives were impressed with the wide range of modern facilities offered by the academy.

Director (Niti Ayog) visits DMRA
Sh. Md. Zubair Ali Hashmi (IAS), Director / NITI Aayog visited DMRA on 8th Jan, 2024. He was welcomed by Dean/DMRA and given an informative overview of the diverse and advanced facilities in DMRA. Sh. Hashmi was then guided through the various state-of-the-art facilities of DMRA such as Digital library, various Demonstration rooms, advanced Driving and Maintenance Simulators, ROCS & True Scale Tunnel Model providing him with an insight into the academy's training capabilities. He appreciated the academy for education and training purpose.

DMRA conducts specialized training for executives of NHAI
A specialized Training Program on “Bridges and Structures: Design, Construction and Safety Aspects” was conducted for executives of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) from 12.12.23 to 01.01.24 at DMRA. 15 executives attended the training which included interactive classroom sessions and site visits.
